Amy Rood Miller

Founder Amy Rood Miller has been teaching music privately for the past 18 years and combines both the soft skills of a Music Therapist, with the technical aptitude of a classically-trained performer.  In addition to coordinating the day to day operations of Creative Music Lessons, she passionately fosters a joy for music by teaching voicepianoguitar, and flute to students of all ages and skill levels.

She earned her Bachelor’s in Music Therapy from Shenandoah Conservatory and has worked in a variety of settings including preschools, children with autism, hospice care, and children with cancer and blood disorders. 

Amy also achieved a Master’s in Vocal Performance during her time at Shenandoah, and has sung at numerous renowned venues throughout the U.S. and abroad, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Barbara Baker

For the past three decades, Barbara has dedicated her work to integrating the fields of music therapy AND music instruction. She has created and implemented a variety of unique preschool music programs throughout Connecticut and New York. This includes work for the Danbury Public Schools, Westcop Nursery School in New York, and Early Learning Center of Danbury.  

Barbara's love of music and teaching has led her to Creative Music Lessons where she specializes in piano, guitar, and ukulele instruction. From beginner to intermediate, her warm and engaging style and wealth of knowledge is something any student would appreciate, regardless of age or skill level! She utilizes a number of interactive techniques that help keep lessons fun and exciting, while still maintaining progress towards each student's musical goals.

Stefan Benkowski

Stefan studied jazz performance and music theory and earned his Bachelors degree in Music Therapy at NYU. Since then, he has been working as a music therapist in hospice and making progress towards a Masters degree in Music Therapy. He also is a talented musician in his own right, and frequently arranges, produces, and performs with a number of local artists.

Stefan has a deep knowledge of numerous musical styles and instruments, which is apparent in his versatile teaching style. He shares his love and passion for music by teaching guitar, mandolin, ukulele, piano, voice, drums and brass instruments to students throughout Westchester and Connecticut. Stefan also provides lessons in music theory, music production, and songwriting. He takes pride in helping students to reach their goals, all while cultivating a lifelong love for music no matter what their skill level!
